Anna-Alisa Belous, Costume Designer.

Anna-Alisa holds an MFA from the Art and Design Academy, St. Petersburg, Russia and an MFA in costume design from Brandeis University, Boston.

Anna-Alisa is resident costume designer for Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre since 2002, and she is resident costume designer for Williams College Dance Department (MA) since 2011.

Anna-Alisa has also worked as a costume designer for Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company CDDC, Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre (DT)2, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, Rebecca Kelly Ballet, LAB Theater, Modus Opera, Philadanco (PA), Actor’s Shakespeare Project (MA), Portland Stage Company (ME), Boston Playwrights Theater (MA), Opera Naples (FL), Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department, Alvin Ailey School, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music Opera Department, The New School for Drama, and Blessed Unrest, both as set and costume designer.

Anna-Alisa also worked for the Washington Ballet, Boston Ballet, Santa Fe Opera, American Repertory Theater, Gotham Chamber Opera, Columbia University, Milwaukee Ballet, for the television show "Law and Order," and for the feature film “Red Skies,” starring Bill Pullman, Cam Gigandet, and Rachael Leigh Cook. She has also worked as a costume designer and stylist on several independent films, video projects, and music concerts, such as Celtic Christmas Sojourn with support of WGBH since 2002.

Anna-Alisa remade the costumes for the Martha Graham Company ballet Clytemnestra after the originals were damaged during Hurricane Sandy, and she is often invited to re-make and restore company’s costumes for other ballets.

Anna-Alisa taught the MFA class on Costume Rendering Techniques at Brandeis University in 2003 and has been invited to present lectures on a topic of Costume Design at Adelphi University since 2013.

Anna-Alisa has lived in New York City since 2001.
